The “New Year” is traditionally a time for RESOLUTIONS. Things that we
are going to do differently; do brand new; or to stop doing altogether. Here is a resolution for you:
A. Continue attending church or
B. Start attending church.

We all want convenience in our lives. Watching live stream church services on the computer from the comfort of our own home, while sitting on your sofa, in your jammies, and drinking coffee is becoming the rage. But is that really “attending” church?

The key question is: WHY IS ATTENDING CHURCH IMPORTANT? Jesus said, “I came to serve, not to be served.” Exactly who do you “serve” while staring at your computer, sitting at home, on your sofa, in your jammies, drinking coffee?

There may be a “Lone Ranger,” but there is no such thing as the “Lone Christian.” There is strength and power in numbers. There is no “communion of saints” staring at your computer, sitting on your sofa, in your jammies, and drinkin coffee. You can’t experience the power, the strength, the joy of worship that comes from others while staring at your
computer, sitting at home, on your sofa, in your jammies, drinking coffee.

For many of us it is, “Gimme, Gimmie.” “Gimme more money,” “Gimme more stuff,” “Gimme more free time.” Christians are not “Gimme” people. Christians are “GIVE, GIVE, GIVE PEOPLE!” We GIVE of our TIME, our TALENT, our RESOURCES. WE DON’T TAKE, TAKE, TAKE. We GIVE, GIVE, GIVE.”

Christians don’t sit in the stands and watch: CHRISTIANS GET IN THE GAME! Christians don’t ask others to sacrifice: CHRISTIANS SACRIFICE!

Christian don’t sit around wondering who will do it: CHRISTIANS SAY, “HERE AM I! I’LL DO IT! Christians don’t just pray for themselves: THEY PRAY FOR OTHERS IN NEED. Christians don’t ask, “What can the Church do for me?” Christians ask, “WHAT CAN I DO FOR THE CHURCH.”

For 2022, it is time for Christians to get off the computer, get off your sofa, get out of their jammies put on your clothes, put down the coffee, and START ATTENDING CHURCH!
