We have available to us all kinds of help and guides to make it through life. We have ‘Life Coaches’, ‘Personal Trainers’, and ‘Psychic Advisors’ to name just a few. With the beginning of each New Year we think, we plan, we make decisions to do something different that will hopefully better our lives. With that in mind, I am going to lay out for you a plan for 2021 that is guaranteed to change your whole outlook on life. It is called THE THIRTY-FIVE MINUTES A DAY WORKOUT. This program is guaranteed to be a “LIFE CHANGER”! A workout that will give you a whole new perspective on life. 

The workout is designed for thirty-five minutes a day, six days a week. That means that each one of us has 450,720 minutes for 313 days per year. If we take out 35 minutes a day of the 313 days, that is 10,955 minutes per year, leaving us with a total of 439,725 minutes per year. The 10,955 minutes is less than 10% of your yearly minutes. Following me? Actually, I didn’t have to do any of this math to give you my Thirty-Five Minutes a Day Workout, but I threw it in because I really thought it would impress the heck out of you. 

Starting January 1, set your alarm for ten minutes earlier than you usually do. Use that ten minutes to spend time in prayer. Thank God for giving you another day. Ask God to take care of you and your family for the day. Ask God for guidance just in case things “go south” at work. Ask God to help you stay sharp and focused for the day. Ask God to get you safely to and from work, school, the grocery store, etc. You are down to twenty-five minutes. 

Go to www.ilcwaukee.org and click on “Devotions by Pastor Joseph.” These devotions are new and different each day and give you a new outlook on life and give you some hope for the day. You are now down to twenty minutes. 

I know a man, a very able, honest, and hardworking attorney. Each day he takes a coffee break, shuts his office door, and spends ten minutes reading the Bible. He bases his “practice” on the insights he gains from the word of God. You are now down to ten minutes. 

When you turn out the lights, thank God for getting you and your family home safe and sound. Thank God that work went smoothly and if it didn’t, that God gave you the guidance to make things work out. Thank God for your family, food, clothing, and shelter. Give all your worries to God and let him deal with them and ask for a good night’s sleep. You are down to 0 minutes. You have completed Day 1 of your 2021 “Thirty-Five Minutes a Day Workout.” Try this for ninety days and God will guarantee your life will be richer and more satisfying.
