JOHN 19: 27 “…And from that hour the disciple took her into his own home.” Once again we see a very selfless Jesus. As he is dying, a most horrible death, his thoughts are with others. Jesus life is one of selflessness. We see him healing and teaching when he is totally exhausted. We see him reaching out to tax collectors and women of fallen virtue. His whole life is one of sacrifice. Paul in Philippians says, “Jesus gave up the glory of the kingdom.” There is no limit to Christ’s love for us. Even as he was dying he was more concerned with the welfare of others. In Luke we see Jesus concerned about the penitent thief, asking God to forgive those who have put him on the cross, and finally to make sure that his mother is cared for. Jesus life is one of selflessness. We ask God to guide us in lives of sacrificial service. Amen.
