Jonathan's House for Orphans
The world isn’t always a bright place. Poverty, starvation, and death are realities which often seem insurmountable. A few months ago, however, one of Immanuel’s youth groups decided they would try to do something about such issues. They got the word out in the church that a missionary would be heading to Sierra Leone and would love donations of various kinds. The kids collected notebooks, pencils, crayons, toothbrushes, and various other materials which were sorely needed at an orphanage in Sierra Leone. The missionary, Elle Brown, took these things with her when she visited the orphanage in December, 2009. In March, Ms. Brown came to Immanuel to share a presentation about Sierra Leone, the orphanage, and how our donations helped the kids there.
